About The Location

Älskar House sits on just shy of sixty acres in East Nassau, at the north end of the Hudson River Valley in New York. The property features a main house, an apartment for visiting artists, a large stable to be used as artist studios, a small cabin studio space, and expansive beautiful grounds. Black Brook, a registered trout stream, flows through the property and can be accessed via a roughly marked trail system throughout.

Site-specific installation proposals are welcome.

About Us

Joanne Sharp

Joanne Sharp is a burnt-out lifelong arts administrator who has found her new calling in the Hudson Valley cutting trees, splitting wood, gathering kindling and any and all tasks necessary for keeping the woodstove burning. She is figuring out what her next act will be and in the meantime is embracing wood chip life.

Todd Sharp

Todd Sharp is an artist of all trades. He’s a photographer, writer, filmmaker, musician, builder, and occasional florist. Todd uses any and all media in service of telling a story.

Together they created Älskar House, a place for creatives to explore what they love, bathe in nature, and make the world a better place one meal, one conversation, one piece of art at a time.
